I think Windows Phone use Csharp, and that it is impossible
to write native aplications on Windows Phone.

But I suppose that many other devices still use Win CE
Comments, suggestions?

thanks

C# and VB.NET now. No native apps.

It's used in specialized devices like milking machines, highway
information signs (the ones that announce delays, etc.), calculators,
TV set-top boxes. Probably no opportunity for 3rd-party applications.

It's used in specialized handhelds, like those used by delivery people
(e.g. UPS), rental car drop off people, etc. NOTE: I don't know
whether CE is actually used in the UPS devices, but do know it's used
in devices similar to those. Potentially some opportunity for
3rd-party applications, but these devices are likely closed.

Microsoft says it will continue to support Windows Mobile for somewhat
specialized purposes. These devices may be open technically, but
probably tightly controlled. So individual users probably won't be
able to load apps.
